Concrete fails from underneath. If the sub grade is not compacted, or the drainage sends water under the slab, the pour will crack no matter how good the finish looks the day the truck leaves.
Upstate red clay holds water and moves with it. That is why we grade and compact the base ourselves, set the depth for what is actually going to drive on it, and put the control joints where the slab wants to crack anyway so it cracks in a straight line you cannot see.
A driveway that will carry a delivery truck is not the same pour as one that carries a sedan. Tell us what is going to sit on it. Thickness, reinforcement and base depth all change, and a bid that does not ask you that question is guessing.
